Oczywiście kontakt z kulturą to nie tylko kino, ale ponieważ tyle się w nim na początku roku dzieje, warto wiedzieć, na co pójść, żeby nie robić sobie zaległości!
Of course, the cultural
entertainment is not only the cinema, but there is so much going on the silver
screen right now! You may find the bellow handout helpful to find out what is
worth watching and to avoid falling behind.
1. Cud wolności (The miracle of freedom)
Abstrahując od wymiaru rasowego przekazu, film
opowiada o sytuacji, z którą każdemu człowiekowi byłoby sobie cholernie trudno poradzić psychicznie. Jeśli to w ogóle możliwe.
Putting
aside the racial aspect in the story, the movie deals with the situation that
would be extremely difficult to cope with for every single man. If it’s at all
possible.

2. Cwaniactwo, przekręty, intrygi. To się musi podobać! (Cunning,
scams, intrigue. What’s not to like?)
3 Złote Globy, 10 innych nagród, 55 nominacji, w tym 10 do Oskara. To chyba
wystarczy na zachętę.

3. Studium choroby czy legalne porno (A study of illness or a legal porn)
Must see dla wszystkich fanów Larsa i/albo
Charlotte Gainsbourg. I oczywiście tych, którzy już widzieli część pierwszą;) Po obejrzeniu całości chętnie podzielę się swoją refleksją ma temat najnowszego działa jednego z moich ulubionych
reżyserów.

must see for all Lars’s and/or Charlotte Gainsbourg’s fans. And of course those
who have already seen the part I;) After watching the whole movie, I will be
happy to share my reflections on the latest work of one of my favorite movie directors.

4. Słaby tytuł, mocna historia (Dull title, thrilling story)
Jeśli dopchacie się do kasy, w niedzielę (2 lutego) w kinie Atlantic będzie
można przedpremierowo zobaczyć nowy film Władysława Pasikowskiego „Jack
Strong”, a także spotkać się z jego twórcami. Film jest prawdziwą historią
pułkownika Ryszarda Kuklińskiego.
If
you are lucky to get the tickets on Sunday (February 2) in the ‘Atlantic’ cinema
you will be able to see the pre-premiere of a new movie directed by Wladyslaw
Pasikowski: "Jack Strong" and to meet its creators. The picture is
the true story of Colonel Ryszard Kuklinski.

5. Śmiech przez łzy (Laughter through tears)
I oczywiście nowy Smarzowski, ale większość już
pewnie na niego poszła. Z małpką, żeby było ironicznie;) A teraz w ekstatycznym uniesieniu sięga po
publikacje Pilcha. Zgadłam?;)
And
of course the new movie of Smarzowski, but most probably you have already gone
to see it. With a quarter of vodka, so it was ironic;) And now, lost in an ecstatic
rapture you reach for Pilch’s books. Was it a good guess?;)

Dobrze przyjętą przez krytykę produkcją jest
„Sierpień w hrabstwie Osage” – pozycja dla lubiących podglądać zawiłe ludzkie dramaty - prawdopodobnie to zasługa doskonałej obsady. Boję się natomiast, że wysoka ocena filmu
przez widzów opiera się na takiej samej zasadzie jak w przypadku okropnego
„Mojego roweru” – tym wyższa im bardziej odbiorca utożsamia się z przedstawianymi w filmie zaniedbanymi,
dysfunkcjonalnymi relacjami rodzinnymi.
A production well-received by critics is the "August: Osage County" – a proposition for all those who like to spy on the intricate human drama - probably thanks to the excellent cast. I am afraid, however, that the high rating of the film by the audience is based on the same principle as in the case of a terrible "Mój Rower" - the higher, the more the recipient is identifying himself with the neglected, dysfunctional family relationships showed in the movie.

W niektórych kinach można jeszcze zobaczyć „Wilka z Wall Street” (reż. Martin
Scorsese) - obłęd! i „Kamerdynera” (reż. Lee Daniels) - obsada! Oba filmy to
oparte na faktach naprawdę ciekawe historie. Jeśli z kolei macie ochotę na
bardziej baśniowe historie, możecie się wybrać na brytyjski dramat „Za tych, co na morzu”
(reż. Paul Wright) albo wrócić na chwilę do dzieciństwa za sprawą „Ratując Pana Banksa”
(reż. John Lee Hancock). Dziś do kin wchodzi też „Złodziejka książek” (reż. Brian Percival), przy czym w tej produkcji niektórzy mogą się doszukać aspektu politycznego - kolejnego działania w ramach przemyślanej niemieckiej polityki historycznej. To może być dobry pretekst do zadania pytania o polską.
In
some theaters, you can still see “The Wolf
of Wall Street" (directed by Martin Scorsese) - madness! and "The Butler" (directed by Lee
Daniels) - Cast! Both movies are based on real and very interesting stories. If
you fancy more fairylike stories, you can try a British drama "For those in Peril"
(directed by Paul Wright) or go back to your childhood for a while thanks to "Saving Mr. Banks" (directed
by John Lee Hancock). Today is also a premiere of "The book thief" (directed by Brian Percival), but in
this production, some can find a political aspect – another actions within a
well-thought-of German historical policy. It might be a good excuse to ask a
question about the Polish one.
